Registered Respiratory Therapist – $30k Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its team at the Muhlenberg campus. The position offers a competitive sign‑on bonus of up to $30,000 for experienced candidates and provides the opportunity to work in a nationally recognized health system.

Key responsibilities

• Administer physician‑prescribed respiratory therapies, including oxygen, medication, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), arterial blood gases (ABGs), and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform invasive and non‑invasive evaluation procedures to determine patient respiratory needs and make treatment recommendations.
• Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, conduct routine rounds, troubleshoot equipment, assist with weaning, and ensure airway safety.
• Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens for diagnostic purposes.
• Document all patient care activities in compliance with quality standards and departmental regulations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Less than 1 year of related experience (new graduates eligible for up to $20,000 bonus).
• RRT certification (National Board for Respiratory Care) within 1 year of hire.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) license for Pennsylvania upon hire.

Required skills

• Oxygen and respiratory medication administration.
• Pulmonary function testing (PFT) and arterial blood gas analysis (ABG).
• Mechanical ventilation operation and troubleshooting.
• Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) competencies.
