Per Diem Speech Pathologist

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, offers home health, hospice and community-based services. As a per diem Speech Pathologist, you will provide skilled in-home evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognition, voice and swallowing disorders, working with patients, families, caregivers and the interdisciplinary team to improve communication, safety, independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Work to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication and swallowing disorders in adults.
• Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in the state where you work.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) with completed graduate coursework and a clinical practicum at an accredited program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Preferred: 1+ year of experience in speech pathology.

• Hourly pay of $36.05 to $54.05 based on full-time employment, varying with local labor market, education, experience and certifications.
