About the role
Optical Physics Company is seeking a Systems Engineer / Optical Engineer to join its adaptive optics laboratory in Simi Valley. You will manage lab projects, maintain cutting‑edge technologies, and lead technical staff in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and implement laboratory projects and procedures.
- Direct and lead the work of technical staff.
- Assist in meeting aerospace standards and troubleshooting lab issues.
- Learn and manage applications such as DOORS in a dynamic setting.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an aerospace lab environment.
- Strong analysis, critical thinking, and detail‑oriented mindset.
- Leadership qualities and ability to work under deadlines.
Required skills
- Adaptive optics
- Lasers
- DOORS (requirements management)
- Zemax optical design software
What we offer
- Salary $120,000 – $130,000 per year
- 9 days annual holidays and 5 weeks PTO
- Performance bonus at the company's discretion
