Modeling & Simulation Engineer – Operations Analysis

About the role

An advanced defense technology company seeks a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to lead operational analysis and mission‑level simulation studies for next‑generation defense and aerospace programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and analyze high‑fidelity mission‑level modeling and simulation studies.
• Build and refine models for sensors, communications, aircraft, autonomous systems, missiles and other mission assets.
• Apply statistical analysis to simulation outputs to quantify effectiveness and support decision‑making.
• Develop Python and/or MATLAB tools for automation, data processing, visualization, and analysis.
• Create technical reports, visualizations and briefing materials for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting defense, aerospace or advanced technology programs.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming for scientific computing.
• MATLAB proficiency.
• Experience with operational simulation tools such as AFSIM, ESAMS, STK, Brawler or equivalent.
• Solid statistical analysis and data interpretation.
• Comfort working in Linux environments and using version control.
