Field Service Engineer

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer at Leybold you will install, troubleshoot, maintain and service vacuum pumps and related equipment across a designated territory. The role is customer‑facing, revenue‑generating and focuses on aftermarket sales, technical support and relationship building.

Key responsibilities

• Install, analyse, troubleshoot and maintain Leybold vacuum systems and equipment.
• Promote and sell spare parts, service repairs and aftermarket solutions.
• Collaborate with account managers to identify and penetrate new accounts.
• Provide technical advice, training and support to customers.
• Maintain detailed records of site visits and follow‑up activities.
• Assist in product qualifications and installations.
• Recommend products and services tailored to customer needs.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of field service experience (preferred).
• Background in automotive or mechanical repair/assembly.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Experience with vacuum technology (e.g., turbopumps, dry pumps, leak detectors).
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer environments.
