Manufacturing Engineer – Effectors

About the role

An advanced aerospace and defense technology company is seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer to scale next‑generation interceptor and autonomous defense systems from prototype to high‑rate production. The role bridges product engineering, manufacturing strategy, and production execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead DFMA reviews across concept, design, prototyping and production readiness phases.
• Perform producibility assessments, process capability evaluations and develop manufacturing plans, work instructions and MBOM structures.
• Support prototype builds, pilot production, root‑cause investigations and first‑article inspections.
• Develop scalable manufacturing strategies, implement automation, poka‑yoke and support MES/ERP/PLM workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related STEM field.
• 5+ years experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics or high‑rate manufacturing environments.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Required skills

• Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) expertise.
• GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo or CATIA.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process capability (Cp/Cpk) and root‑cause methodologies (8D, RCCA).
• Experience creating MBOMs, work instructions, process flows and production routing.
