Open-Rank Faculty Position in Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics

About the role

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Candidates are encouraged to pursue fundamental mechanisms and translational applications in areas such as bacteriology, parasitology, virology, immunology, immunotherapy, systems biology, and molecular genetics. The new faculty member will join a vibrant community of researchers and educators, benefiting from interdisciplinary collaborations across the UCLA campus.

Required profile

• Hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent) and have at least one first‑author publication.
• Demonstrated strong track record or clear potential for productive, impactful research and extramural funding appropriate to career stage.
• Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related life‑science discipline is preferred.
• Commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service within an academic environment.
• Ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate education in the Division of Life Sciences.
