About the role
Georgetown University is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to provide routine and semi‑skilled preventative maintenance and minor repairs across campus facilities. The role supports a safe, comfortable environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general building trades work, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, heating and ventilation systems.
- Execute routine preventative maintenance inspections and respond to service calls.
- Carry out minor repairs and unscheduled special work in accordance with industry standards.
- Use standard tools, equipment and supplies while adhering to all safety regulations.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- 4‑5 years of experience in general building maintenance with intermediate electrical, plumbing and HVAC/refrigeration skills.
- Completion of a training program covering electrical, HVAC/refrigeration and plumbing.
- Universal EPA‑CFC certification.
- Basic computer literacy with MS Windows.
- Valid driver’s license.

What we offer
- Full‑time position (40 hours/week) with hourly pay of $22.64.
