Campus Custodian

About the role
The Custodian provides a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for the Georgetown University community. Working on the Main Campus, the incumbent follows a detailed cleaning plan and supports emergency and special‑event situations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general and specific cleaning tasks across 28,000‑35,000 sq ft per shift.
- Execute snow and ice removal, water or fire‑damage cleanup, and special‑event support.
- Use standard custodial tools, equipment, and supplies while adhering to all safety regulations.
- Report to Custodial Supervisors and collaborate with Facilities staff as needed.
- Maintain attendance, clock‑in/out accurately, and respond to emergency staffing shortages.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of custodial work experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia.
- Ability to work independently, follow guidance, and adapt to flexible schedules.
