Logistics Operator

About the role

The Logistics Operator moves finished product from the rolling mill to staging areas for outbound shipments, using mobile and material handling equipment. The role supports inventory and quality checks within the Logistics Department.

Key responsibilities

• Transfer stacked and bundled materials from rolling mill finishing operations to stock areas, storing them by product, grade, size, and heat number.
• Operate forklifts, electric overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to lift, move, and position product safely.
• Perform inventory spot checks, assist with physical counts, and communicate material locations for accuracy.
• Observe product conformity, report quality issues, and assist with daily preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Support other logistics functions and fill in for temporary positions as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Completed Gerdau safety, forklift, and electric overhead crane training.
• 1‑2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a fit‑for‑duty exam and meet physical requirements (lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, standing, etc.).
