Local Projects Administrator Lead

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. is seeking a Local Projects Administrator Lead to head transportation design initiatives for Ohio municipalities and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). This senior‑level position will guide a team of project managers, nurture relationships with local governments, and ensure high‑quality design deliverables across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation of transportation design plans and 3‑D models for ODOT, local public agencies, and municipal roadway projects.
• Oversee the organization and execution of all local government transportation projects, managing the project‑pursuit pipeline.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Ohio municipalities, coordinating project pursuits and delivery.
• Perform and review design calculations, including drainage, quantities, maintenance‑of‑traffic, and pavement design.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth in design and project management.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams across offices to support ODOT and other regional projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification required; PE license or active pursuit preferred.
• 5–9 years of experience in roadway or transportation design.
• Proficiency with MicroStation; AutoCAD experience highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ODOT standards and experience preparing plans for DOT and municipal clients.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
