Lead Android Engineer

About the role

Rogo is building its first native Android application to bring AI‑powered financial workflows to professional users. As Lead Android Engineer you will start from a blank canvas, define the architecture and technology stack, and shape the product for years to come.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch the first version of Rogo’s Android app, establishing architecture, technical stack and core engineering patterns.
• Set standards for testing, security, performance, observability, releases and code quality.
• Partner with product, design, and customers to translate AI‑driven workflows into intuitive mobile experiences.
• Own major features end‑to‑end, from user research and technical design through launch and iteration.
• Mentor future Android engineers and help hire for the team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Proven track record of building and launching high‑quality Android applications.
• Strong product judgment and ability to create polished, intuitive user experiences.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and turning open‑ended opportunities into shipped products.

Required skills

• Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK.
• Kotlin coroutines, Flow, concurrency, threading, performance optimization.
• Architecture and design patterns (e.g., Dagger/Hilt, RxJava).
• Integration with backend services via REST APIs, gRPC, WebSockets or Server‑Sent Events.
• Offline functionality, local persistence, background processing, push notifications.
• Enterprise deployment experience (managed Google Play, Microsoft Intune, MDM).
