About the role

The Law Firm Administrator will oversee daily business operations for a mid-sized Chicago law firm, partnering closely with attorneys and senior leadership. This high‑visibility position is responsible for streamlining administrative, HR, and financial processes to support firm growth and culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily firm operations, ensuring efficient workflows across all departments.
  • Supervise administrative and support staff, handling hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, financial oversight, and vendor management.
  • Maintain compliance with firm policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Support HR initiatives, including employee relations and benefits coordination.
  • Implement and maintain organized systems, reporting structures, and operational processes.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for internal operations and cross‑functional communication.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business, HR, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, think ahead, and operate independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre‑employment screenings, including background and financial checks.
