Journeyman Electrician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join its team in Springfield, VA. The role covers a wide range of electrical trade functions, including the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment used for generating, distributing or utilising electric energy.

Key responsibilities

• Install or repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems and other transmission equipment.
• Work from blueprints, drawings and layouts, locate and diagnose problems in electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform calculations related to the load requirements of wiring and electrical equipment.
• Use electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
• Carry out other duties associated with the position as appropriate.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education or training that gives the ability to read and write at a level needed for the job.
• Electrical Journeyman's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
• Electrical trade functions and use of testing instruments.
