About the role

JCW is seeking a senior commercial insurance leader to head its Small Commercial business. This executive role combines deep underwriting expertise with a strategic mindset to shape the future growth of a specialty P&C carrier.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Small Commercial business, focusing on profitable and sustainable growth.
• Evaluate portfolio performance and implement initiatives to improve underwriting results and overall business performance.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams to identify new market opportunities and strengthen distribution partnerships.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing commercial underwriting organization while driving operational improvements.

Required profile

• Extensive leadership experience within Small Commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
• Strong knowledge of Businessowners, Commercial Package, and related commercial products; experience with Commercial Auto or Workers’ Compensation is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead underwriting teams while balancing growth, profitability, and portfolio quality.
• Track record of developing new products, expanding a business, or leading transformational initiatives within a carrier or MGA environment.
