Electrical Commissioning Engineer II

About the role

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer II provides engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute the full life‑cycle commissioning of critical facilities. Working under moderate supervision, the role also participates in MEP design reviews, testing and operation of electrical and mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing commissioning plans, schedules and load‑bank plans.
• Support engineering design reviews and interpret design specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, design teams, contractors and vendors to clarify scope and resolve issues.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Develop MEP test and operating procedures.
• Witness and perform static and dynamic testing of systems such as chiller plants, UPS, switchgear and ATS.
• Conduct site observation surveys, prepare field reports and daily issue logs.
• Prepare routine calculations and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Assist the project manager and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain required certifications (driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, NFPA 70E).
• Strong reading, writing and oral communication skills for technical documents.
• Proficiency in basic algebra, geometry and unit calculations.
• Reasoning ability to follow written, oral or diagrammatic instructions.
• Experience with Deltek and Microsoft Office 365.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb, stoop and work in noisy, potentially hazardous environments.
