Diagnostic Technologist – Weekend

About the role

The Diagnostic Technologist provides high‑quality radiologic imaging on weekend shifts while adhering to radiation safety standards and delivering excellent patient care. This position supports the imaging department at the Richland Township health center of Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Key responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic‑quality images and prepare them for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain radiation protection by using proper exposure factors, collimation, distance, and documentation.
• Verify that exams are correctly ordered, attached to the right patient folder, and that images are transferred to PACS.
• Document LMP, fluoroscopy time, radiologist details, image count, and required clinical history.
• Report equipment malfunctions and assist with adjustments or repairs.
• Support training of new employees, students, and ancillary staff.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program (less than 1 year experience).
• State of Pennsylvania RT – Registered Technologist Radiology license upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of start.
• Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting 40‑50 lb, standing for long periods, and transporting patients.

Required skills

• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and proper use of radiologic equipment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and imaging documentation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) in Pennsylvania.
