Diagnostic Technologist - Per Diem

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist on a per‑diem basis to provide high‑quality radiologic imaging while adhering to strict radiation safety standards. The role supports physicians by producing diagnostic images and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic‑quality radiologic images and prepare them for radiologist interpretation.
• Apply radiation protection standards, including proper exposure factors, collimation, and documentation.
• Verify physician orders, ensure correct patient identification, and confirm study completeness before finalizing.
• Document LMP, fluoroscopy time, radiologist notes, and required history for each exam.
• Report equipment malfunctions and assist with maintenance requests.
• Support training of new staff, students, and ancillary personnel.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
• Less than 1 year of experience in radiologic imaging.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information ethically.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb, push/pull up to 140 lb, and stand for long periods.

Required skills

• Radiography techniques and equipment operation.
• Radiation safety and protection protocols.
• Use of PACS for image management.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania).
• Registered Technologist Radiology (RT) certification (Pennsylvania).
