Civil Project Manager – Residential Developments

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Project Manager to lead residential development projects for our Columbus office. The role combines design leadership, client interaction, and construction support to deliver high‑quality civil engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for large residential sites, including master planning, lot layout, road networks, grading, and utility design.
• Develop stormwater management and detention/retention systems and ensure compliance with local codes.
• Manage project scope, schedule, resources, and budget; oversee construction drawing production and permitting packages.
• Serve as primary client contact, build relationships with developers and homebuilders, and present deliverables to regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate permitting, zoning, and entitlement processes with municipalities and Ohio EPA.
• Provide construction‑phase support through site visits, RFIs, change order reviews, and issue resolution.
• Mentor and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and technicians, fostering collaboration across environmental, transportation, survey, and geotechnical groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 8+ years of civil site development experience, including at least 2 years in residential land development.
• Proven ability to manage clients, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D (alignments, corridors, grading, profiles, pipe networks).
