Certified Welding Inspector – Nationwide Traveler

About the role

The Certified Welding Inspector will provide quality assurance for Bureau Veritas clients, performing on‑site inspections throughout the construction phase. The role involves reviewing fabrication plans, ensuring compliance with welding standards, and communicating findings to project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Managers to define work order scope, schedule, and budget.
• Conduct on‑site welding inspections and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Communicate with fabrication shops, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and submit timesheets, billing and expense reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, including photo evidence.

Required profile

• Current/active American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (or Senior CWI).
• Non‑Destructive Testing Level II or III certification, or NACE/AMPP Level II.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug checks.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection for remote work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Calendar).
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat for document control.
• Ability to capture and embed photos from a smartphone or tablet into reports.
• Knowledge of PPE requirements and ability to identify additional safety equipment.
• Capability to read and interpret complex design and fabrication plans.
