Certified Medical Assistant - Primary Care

About the role

Unity Health Network, part of the Optum and UnitedHealth Group family, is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for its primary care practice in Hudson, Ohio. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and focuses on providing direct patient care and supporting physicians and other providers with clinical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of care
• Assist physicians and other providers with clinical procedures and office diagnostics
• Perform authorized procedures such as vital signs, vision screening and selected laboratory tests
• Prepare e-prescriptions for pharmacy processing when instructed by the physician
• Clean and process instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
• Process specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring proper labeling and orders entered in EPIC

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Nationally recognized medical assistant certification from NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT or NHA
• Preferred: graduation from an accredited medical assistant program, current CPR/BLS certification, and 1+ year of experience as a medical assistant
