About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Career Development Specialist to support refugees and immigrants in achieving economic self‑sufficiency. In this role you will work one‑on‑one with clients to assess eligibility, create individualized career plans, and guide them toward sustainable employment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct pre‑enrollment assessments and develop personalized career development plans.
- Provide case management and ongoing job‑coaching, including resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
- Deliver group workshops on work‑readiness and employability skills.
- Assist participants in enrolling in vocational training, certifications, apprenticeships, and paid or unpaid work experiences.
- Support networking activities, review job applications, and accompany clients to interviews and job site tours.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strength‑based services and advocate for client rights.
Required profile
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian values and serving diverse, vulnerable populations.
- Flexibility, patience, and determination to adapt to dynamic client needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for one‑on‑one and group settings.
