Buyer & Logistics Coordinator

About the role

The Buyer & Logistics Coordinator will be based onsite in Minden, LA, supporting a DoD‑regulated defense and industrial facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will own purchasing, inventory, and logistics functions to keep the plant supplied, compliant, and fully operational.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and update records in the inventory management system.
• Create and process purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and track deliveries to ensure timely material availability.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, prepare shipping documentation, and hold carriers accountable for on‑time performance.
• Monitor stock levels, flag shortages or excesses, and communicate proactively to maintain production flow.
• Maintain accurate, traceable records for inventory, purchasing, and logistics to support audit readiness and compliance.
• Provide day‑to‑day administrative support and keep the workspace organized.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or related field with at least 2 years of purchasing, inventory, or logistics experience, OR 5 years of relevant experience with a high‑school diploma.
• Hands‑on experience handling inventory in a manufacturing environment, including cycle counts and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and strong attention to detail.
