Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (PRN) – Steamboat Springs

About the role

UCHealth is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to provide urgent care services at the YVMC Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine Clinic in Steamboat Springs. This PRN, part‑time position offers flexible scheduling and competitive hourly pay.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform comprehensive assessments.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Deliver preventative health services, screenings, immunizations, and direct treatment.
• Utilize prescriptive authority and refer patients to appropriate providers or community resources.
• Provide patient and family education on health, wellness, and treatment options.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges.
• At least 5 years of experience in urgent or acute care settings.
• Certification by the ANCC and verification by the State Board of Nursing.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CPR certification (valid for at least 60 days after hire).
• Prescriptive authority as per medical staff privileging.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic studies.
