About the role
The Surgical Assistant department seeks certified Travel Surgical Technologists to serve as First Assistants on a variety of cases, including total joint, breast, plastics, rhinoplasty, laparoscopic, robotic, urology, and GYN procedures. The position involves a rotating schedule with weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage.
Key responsibilities
- Assist surgeons as a first assistant during diverse surgical cases.
- Maintain on‑call availability: weekdays 4:30 pm–7 am, weekends 7 am–7 am, and holidays 7 am–7 am.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience as a surgical technologist first assistant.
- Must hold BLS, NBSTSA, and CSFA certifications.
- AHA Provider Certification (instructor card accepted) and RQI acceptable.
Required skills
- Proficiency with surgical instrumentation and sterile technique.
- Completion of required Stroke CEUs prior to start and annual renewal.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional certifications listed in the unit/job description.
