Structural Engineer (Remote)

About the role

A remote structural engineer position focused on US projects. The employer wants someone with hands-on experience using the listed software on live projects, not just in coursework. The work covers framing design, braced frame analysis, wind and shear wall calculations, and coordination with architects and MEP.

Key responsibilities

• Framing design in ForteWEB: sizing beams, joists, headers and columns
• Braced frame and lateral system design and analysis in RISA-3D
• Wind loading calculations and shear wall design documented in Mathcad
• Modelling and documenting structures in Revit, coordinated against architecture and MEP
• Producing calculation packages that stand up to US plan review
• Working to US codes and standards, including how jurisdictions apply and amend them
• Reviewing drawings for coordination and constructability before release
• Responding to plan review comments and RFIs with documented revisions
• Coordinating with the project team and meeting delivery dates

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of structural engineering experience, with direct work on US projects
• Degree in civil or structural engineering
• Full-time remote work
• Strong written and spoken English, communicating directly with the project team
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines and raise questions early
• Computer capable of running analysis and modelling software, reliable high-speed internet and a backup plan for power
