Senior Chemist – Metalworking Fluid, Product Development and Support

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Chemist to lead product development and support for metalworking fluids (MWFs) at our New Providence, NJ site. The role combines laboratory formulation work, field performance testing, and direct customer interaction to deliver high‑performance, sustainable fluid solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and optimize metalworking fluids, including semi‑synthetic, synthetic, soluble oil, and straight oil products.
• Conduct laboratory and field tests to evaluate corrosion protection, lubricity, foam control, and microbial resistance.
• Identify opportunities for sustainability improvements, cost reduction, and performance enhancements.
• Provide technical support to customers and collaborate with global teams on product adaptations.
• Support daily operations in the MWF Development Laboratory and travel to customer sites or other Surventis/Chemetall locations as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in product development of metalworking fluids or related chemical formulations.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret lab and field data.
• Excellent communication skills for customer support and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for training and on‑site work.
