Medical Assistant

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support providers in a fast‑paced oncology and hematology practice, ensuring smooth patient flow and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, complete intake according to protocol, and answer patient questions in‑office and by phone.
• Clean and straighten exam rooms between patients, prepare syringes, and administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
• Assist providers with injectable procedures and prepare pathology and lab specimens for routing to the appropriate lab.
• Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance, manage medication samples, discard outdated supplies, and keep accurate records.
• Provide backup front‑desk support for check‑in/check‑out and train other staff on medical assistant duties as needed.

Required profile

• At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred) and completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, work well within a team, and demonstrate professionalism and strong customer service.
• Physical ability to lift at least 15 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
