About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day‑to‑day accounting operations of a well‑established U.S. law firm. The role involves handling payroll, billing, trust account management, and financial reporting while ensuring strict compliance with legal accounting standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online, including recording, categorizing, and reconciling bank and credit‑card transactions.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and general‑ledger reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Manage IOLTA trust accounts, track client retainers, and produce regular trust reports.
- Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, and process payroll through a third‑party provider.
- Generate client invoices, monitor collections, and address billing issues.
- Handle vendor purchasing, payment scheduling, and office budget tracking.
- Prepare year‑end financial reports and coordinate with the external CPA for tax filings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of full‑charge bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a U.S. law‑firm environment is highly preferred.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
