Software Engineer, New Grad

About the role

Collective is seeking a highly motivated new‑graduate Software Engineer to join its fast‑growing product team. You will work on financial products that directly affect self‑employed individuals and small businesses across the United States, gaining real product impact from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end implementation of features that improve solopreneur financial outcomes, from design through launch.
• Integrate and leverage Generative AI and large language models to create intuitive, automated user experiences.
• Contribute across the full stack (Python/Django, React/TypeScript) to build core platform features and replace manual financial workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into high‑impact product experiences.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and planning sessions to elevate engineering practices.
• Learn rapidly from senior engineers and continuously develop problem‑solving skills.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of experience with a degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Product mindset focused on balancing technical excellence with tangible customer and business impact.
• Eagerness to explore and apply new technologies, especially Generative AI and LLMs.
• Demonstrated ability to build real projects or contribute to a team using a core programming language.
• Familiarity with modern web technologies through internships or academic projects.
• Based in the Bay Area and able to work onsite or hybrid as required.
