Field Engineer

About the role

Decagon is looking for a systems‑minded Field Engineer to design, prototype and build internal tooling, data infrastructure and automated workflows that keep User Operations aligned with Product and Engineering. The role is hands‑on, focused on shipping production‑grade software that powers feedback loops, launch readiness and continuous automation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate product launches across internal User Operations teams and external partners, ensuring seamless execution and support readiness.
• Architect launch‑readiness systems that replace manual documents and meetings with automated dashboards, alerts and workflows.
• Develop scalable feedback loops between support, product and engineering to integrate customer insights into product strategy.
• Prototype solutions quickly using tools such as ChatGPT, Jupyter notebooks, Retool and then harden them with engineering standards.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal and Operations to define launch goals, timelines and readiness metrics.
• Identify risks during rollouts and propose mitigations that protect customer experience and service levels.
• Continuously replace repetitive touchpoints with scripts, agents or LLM‑powered flows.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience coordinating project launches, preferably in a customer support or user operations environment.
• Strong ability to write production‑grade code and build lightweight internal platforms.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, cross‑functional team and translating business needs into technical solutions.
