Software Engineer - ATAK/Android

About the role

Polaris Alpha® Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, implement, and deliver high‑performance, secure, mission‑critical solutions for armament systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The role focuses on decision‑aid software modules for new tactical fire‑control systems, emphasizing interoperability and open architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software modules for U.S. Army tactical fire‑control systems in an Agile environment.
• Perform requirements analysis and maintain traceability.
• Author design, interface, and user documentation.
• Manage software configuration using Git or similar tools.
• Support periodic design reviews and Agile sprint planning.
• Assist with demonstrations, exhibitions, and test events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) and Android Java/Kotlin development.
• Technical leadership and experience in software architecture and integration.
• Algorithm development and familiarity with development/build tools such as the Atlassian suite.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and travel (5‑10%).
