Senior Financial Analyst – News Group Marketing & Capital

About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst will lead financial management for NBC News Group’s Marketing and News Headquarters functions, overseeing budgets, P&Ls and capital spending. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, the analyst will partner with production and technical leaders to drive strategic initiatives and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the P&Ls for NBC News Marketing and News HQ departments, including budget preparation, financial pacing updates and risk/opportunity identification.
• Lead capital‑expenditure analysis for on‑air production equipment, studio infrastructure and digital product development.
• Collaborate with technical leaders on initiatives that streamline operations, control costs and improve decision‑making.
• Prepare executive updates, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Execute monthly close activities such as journal entries, variance analysis, headcount reporting and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support daily financial operations, including accounts payable processing and T&E/P‑Card compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting and P&L management, preferably within media or entertainment.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with production and technical teams.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
