Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Moog Space and Defense Group is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design lifecycle for complex boards and subsystems. The role involves interpreting requirements, defining system architectures, creating schematics and block diagrams, validating designs through analysis and testing, and producing supporting documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret system requirements and define block‑level architectures.
• Create detailed schematics and block diagrams for high‑performance boards.
• Validate designs using analysis, simulation, and hardware testing.
• Provide PCB design guidance, including stack‑up, routing, and SI/PI considerations.
• Support board bring‑up and perform hands‑on lab debugging.
• Lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate multi‑discipline teams when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on hardware/electrical design experience.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro or Altium.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad).
• Working knowledge of Signal Integrity and Power Integrity analysis and mitigation techniques.
