Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Phoenix

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Space and Defense Group in Phoenix. The role owns the full electrical design lifecycle for complex boards and subsystems, from requirements interpretation to documentation and board bring‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret system requirements and define system and block‑level architectures.
• Produce schematics, block diagrams, and detailed PCB layouts.
• Validate designs through analysis, simulation, and hardware testing.
• Provide PCB design guidance, including stack‑up, routing, and SI/PI considerations.
• Support board bring‑up and lab debugging hands‑on.
• Lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate multi‑discipline teams when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on hardware/electrical design experience.
• Self‑motivated with strong analytic and critical‑thinking skills.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, Altium).
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and Mathcad.
• Working knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and mitigation techniques.
• Ability to produce clear design documentation and support board bring‑up and lab debugging.
