Patient Care Technician – PRN (ICU, Med/Surg, Oncology)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Patient Care Technician on an as‑needed (PRN) basis to support adult ICU, medical‑surgical, and oncology units. This temporary, fixed‑term position provides direct patient care and assists nursing staff in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bedside care, including bathing, positioning, and feeding patients.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other clinical data.
• Assist with procedures, transports, and patient mobility.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Follow infection‑control protocols and ensure a safe environment.

Required profile

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Relevant patient care certification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in ICU, med‑surg, and oncology settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills
