Part‑Time RN – Main Operating Room

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a part‑time Registered Nurse to work in the Main Operating Room. The RN will provide direct patient care, support the surgical team, and ensure a safe, sterile environment throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia staff with equipment setup and patient positioning.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
• Document nursing interventions and patient outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with perioperative team members to coordinate patient flow.

Required profile

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on day one of employment.
• Experience in peri‑operative or operating‑room nursing preferred.
• Ability to work variable shifts on a part‑time basis.

Required skills

• RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Operating Room nursing experience.
