Registered Nurse – Main Operating Room

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Main Operating Room team. This position provides peri‑operative nursing care, supports surgical teams, and ensures patient safety throughout procedures. The role operates on a day‑shift schedule within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and surgical equipment for procedures.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during operations.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intra‑operative changes.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
• Document nursing care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and staff education.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse license in Arkansas.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in peri‑operative or operating‑room nursing preferred.
• Ability to work day‑shift hours and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
