Part-Time Faculty – Intelligence (Remote)

About the role

Columbia Southern University is seeking a part‑time faculty member to teach Intelligence courses for its College of Military Studies and Leadership. This remote position involves evening and weekend engagement with undergraduate and graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate Intelligence courses, delivering at least two live lectures per course.
• Record and post welcome videos and transcripts for each class.
• Communicate regularly with students, encouraging engagement and course completion.
• Conduct weekly outreach to students who are struggling.
• Respond to student email inquiries within 48 hours using the university email account.
• Facilitate discussion boards and provide substantive feedback on assignments via Blackboard.
• Review student submissions, apply rubrics, and explain grading decisions.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for curriculum maintenance and course rigor.
• Address academic integrity issues, grade challenges, and grade inflation promptly.
• Participate in faculty development, mandatory trainings, and other projects assigned by the Academic Program Director.

Required profile

• Knowledge of English language structure, composition, and grammar.
• Familiarity with university academic processes and terminology.
• Ability to manage clerical tasks such as word processing, file management, and record keeping.
• Commitment to timely communication and student support.
