Multifamily CRE Portfolio Management Associate

About the role

The Multifamily CRE Portfolio Management Associate will support Santander’s multifamily housing business line. The role focuses on preserving affordable multifamily housing, servicing assets according to agreements, and prudently enhancing credit structures to maximize recovery potential.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct borrower outreach to obtain updated loan information.
• Prepare drafts of annual loan reviews, including financial analysis and qualitative factors.
• Run Lexis Nexis searches on borrowing entities, sponsors, and tenants.
• Coordinate internal teams to ensure insurance compliance and order appraisal reports.
• Complete due‑diligence checklists on modification requests.
• Perform daily data pulls to keep trackers up to date and maintain the master pipeline.
• Manage weekly reporting on delinquencies, upcoming maturities, and rate resets.
• Process loan payments, including wires and automatic payments.
• Update loan portfolio management systems and related databases.
• Monitor team inboxes, send maturity letters, and prepare internal presentations with market research.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in CRE portfolio management or underwriting.
• Strong quantitative reasoning and writing abilities.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Effective time‑management skills for handling multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience using Lexis Nexis for research.
