Multi-Craft Technician

About the role

The Multi-Craft Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and install a wide range of production equipment at our Alexandria, MN facility. You will work closely with operators, engineers, and plant leadership to ensure reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair motors, generators, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, clutches, bearings, pumps, and computerized devices using wiring, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
• Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance in confined or elevated spaces, including use of ladders, man lifts, and boom trucks.
• Operate hand and power tools such as drills, lathes, mills, grinders, welders, and pipe cutters.
• Apply mechanical, electrical, and electronic theory with a primary focus on control systems.
• Collaborate with operators, process engineers, and contractors to implement continuous‑improvement ideas.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Mechatronics or a high school diploma/GED plus at least five years of maintenance experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Self‑motivated, team‑oriented with strong interpersonal communication.

Required skills

• Rockwell PLC and drive programming.
• Mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in operating hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
