Medical Director – Family Nurse Practitioner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to serve as Medical Director for a community health FQHC site. The role blends direct patient care with leadership of clinical operations, ensuring high‑quality primary care for a diverse population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary care to patients of all ages (0‑100), with roughly 70% clinical time and 30% administrative duties.
• Work a 5‑day week schedule, including rotating evening and weekend shifts, with potential telehealth days.
• Oversee clinical examinations performed by site providers and review complex cases to determine optimal treatment plans.
• Collaborate with HR, the Chief Medical Officer, and the Director of Primary Care on staff and patient issues.
• Participate in leadership meetings to assess staff efficiency, productivity, and performance.
• Attend monthly conferences and supervise Nurse Practitioners, including precepting in the NP training program.

Required profile

• Active or applied NY State license, DEA registration; CSR preferred.
• Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Prior experience in community health or FQHC settings.
• Demonstrated leadership of clinical providers and strong communication skills.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.
