Maintenance Technician

About the role

BASF’s Catalysts division is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support its Savannah, GA plant. The role ensures reliable operation of plant equipment, enabling safe, cost‑efficient production of high‑quality catalyst products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
• Work independently following written instructions and safety procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools, cutting, burning, and welding equipment safely.
• Operate material‑handling equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and complete required paperwork accurately.
• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and wear prescribed PPE.
• Report unsafe conditions and notify supervisors when tasks exceed training.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in precision maintenance of rotating manufacturing equipment.
• Experience using SAP for maintenance orders.
• Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
