Operator Associate – Manufacturing Plant

About the role

BASF is seeking an Operator Associate to join its Catalyst production team in Savannah, Georgia. This entry‑level position supports the manufacturing of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts and related products, contributing to cleaner air and efficient chemical production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate major plant equipment and processes such as pumps, valves, compressors, dryers, and filters following standard procedures.
• Maintain equipment, diagnose problems, and perform preventative actions to avoid shutdowns.
• Drive and operate a forklift for material handling within the plant.
• Record production data, interpret written and diagrammatic instructions, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Monitor product quantity and quality, including conducting analytical testing.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing or operations.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.

Required skills

• Operation of industrial equipment (pumps, valves, compressors, dryers).
• Forklift operation.
• Analytical testing and quality monitoring.
