Director, Business Management – Chemical Intermediates (Butanediol) North America

About the role

We are seeking a Director to lead our North American Business Management for Butanediol and its derivatives. Based in Houston, you will oversee an integrated portfolio that includes Butanediol, GBL, NMP, THF, PTHF, acetylene and related by‑products, driving growth and profitability across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the global business strategy for products manufactured in Geismar, Louisiana and sold to third‑party customers, internal divisions and export markets.
• Deliver regional financial targets, manage contracts and pricing, and improve working capital.
• Lead a team of approximately five employees across sales, product management and demand planning.
• Collaborate with internal partners such as supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, product stewardship and legal.
• Support capital projects and drive business process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in commodity or chemical business management.
• Strong financial discipline with a track record of profitable growth.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent people‑leadership skills, capable of coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
