About the role
The Verification & Process Safety Engineer will review customer facility designs to ensure they meet industry standards and best practices. The role involves design verification, certification, and supporting regulatory compliance for oil and gas projects in Houston.
Key responsibilities
- Meet with customers to understand jurisdictional rules and develop verification plans.
- Review design information, comment on non‑conformances, and recommend changes.
- Facilitate and review PHA, HAZID/HAZOP, and LOPA studies.
- Oversee MOC systems and PSSR to maintain safety during plant modifications.
- Manage safety‑critical equipment performance, including SIS and relief valves.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations.
- Lead root‑cause investigations for process safety events and track corrective actions.
- Support business development by identifying new technical value propositions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Deep knowledge of RAGAGEP, NFPA, API and ISO standards; familiarity with UK Safety Case.
- Professional Engineer licensure and/or formal PHA/HAZOP facilitator training preferred.
- Ability to travel within the US and abroad (≈20%).
