Fractional Tax Manager

About the role

Sprout is seeking a senior tax professional to work on a fractional basis, providing strategic tax oversight for a complex, multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction organization. This remote role involves 10 hours per week with additional capacity during peak filing periods.

Key responsibilities

• Own the domestic tax compliance calendar across all entities and jurisdictions, ensuring timely filings and estimated payments.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the external accounting firm, managing day‑to‑day interactions and review processes.
• Review partnership K‑1 packages and entity‑level returns before company sign‑off.
• Coordinate European CFC compliance and U.S. federal reporting for international subsidiaries.
• Provide CFO‑level visibility into international tax exposure, elections, and planning considerations.
• Monitor intercompany relationships for transfer‑pricing or structural issues and coordinate with local tax teams on VAT and indirect tax filings.
• Support outside counsel and financial advisors on M&A tax structuring.

Required profile

• Senior tax professional with extensive experience in multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction environments.
• Proven ability to manage external advisor relationships and compliance calendars.
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state tax obligations, European CFC rules, and indirect taxes such as VAT.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex tax concepts for senior leadership.
