Energy & Utilities Analyst

About the role

The Energy & Utilities Analyst supports Georgetown University’s Office of Engineering and Utilities by providing program and data analysis for utility billing, expense forecasting, and sustainability reporting across both the Hilltop and Capitol campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reconcile commodity billings for water, electricity, natural gas, and fuel oil.
• Assist in developing the $45M+ commodity expense forecast and $15M+ outgoing billing to auxiliary users.
• Manage utility bill operations, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrections with vendors.
• Produce periodic reports on utility costs, energy performance, and greenhouse gas inventories.
• Support energy and sustainability reporting, including Building Energy Performance Standards to the Department of Energy & Environment.
• Maintain records related to utility billing and assist with the Georgetown Energy Partnership data analysis.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners.
• Familiarity with utility billing processes and energy data analysis.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction.
