Director of Mission

About the role

The Director of Mission leads the spiritual formation and faith development of the Cristo Rey Kansas City community, preparing leaders for service in the Church and broader society. This senior executive position works closely with the campus minister, administration, and chaplain to embed mission, prayer, and service into daily school life.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for mission and spiritual formation across the CRKC community.
• Partner with the Campus Minister, administration, and chaplain to create faith‑centered programs for alumni, benefactors, and parents.
• Integrate mission principles into employee orientation, hiring policies, and governance processes in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Ensure visibility and presence on campus, participating in school activities and overseeing Virtus Safe Environment training for staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with the executive team to embed mission viability into all school initiatives and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Active Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• Mission‑focused, creative, flexible, and high‑energy.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Understanding of human networks, motivating factors, and multicultural settings.
• Ability to work across generations, cultures, and faith backgrounds.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Master’s degree required.
• Five or more years of professional experience in mission, executive leadership, or Catholic ministry.
