DevOps Engineer

About the role

BusPatrol is modernizing student transportation safety through cloud platforms, automation, and AI. As a hands‑on DevOps Engineer you will build and evolve infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security guardrails to make engineering teams faster, safer, and more effective.

Key responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC patterns such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Define and improve the engineering “paved road” for service delivery, release patterns, and environment consistency.
• Build, harden, and operate CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) with automated testing, security scanning, and rollback capabilities.
• Standardize observability across applications and infrastructure – logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
• Partner with engineering, security, MLOps, and IT teams to improve reliability, performance, and production readiness.
• Support secure AI‑enabled software delivery by operationalizing spec‑driven workflows and automated test generation.
• Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or related cloud infrastructure roles.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and modern infrastructure automation (Terraform, AWS CDK, GitOps).
• Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Strong knowledge of observability tooling, monitoring, and production operations.
• Familiarity with cloud security controls, secret management, and policy‑as‑code.
